Translation; Volk

Volk, or Wolf, was the protagonist in a Tom & Jerry like Soviet cartoon called ‘Nu, Pogodi!’ (Well, Just You Wait!). Volk’s aim to each episode was to capture and devour a naive and young hare named Zayats, however, is endeavours were always fruitless, resulting in the cartoons with Volk crying out the franchises’ name sake in his frustration as Zayats would inevitably escape his clutches.

Volk was often portrayed as somewhat of a bohemian, or down-on-his-luck rocker; fobbing off the police, being an awful musician and usually with a cigarette hanging loosely from his jaws.
